Christian County Sheriff Joey Kyle said Saturday that no one has been arrested in connection to a triple homicide that occurred Friday near Ozark, but deputies do have a person of interest.

Kyle said two women and a man were found dead with gunshot wounds at a residence in Christian County on Friday evening, and neighbors say one of those women may have been pregnant.

Kyle said Saturday he could not release the identities of the victims or confirm whether one of them was pregnant. He said the man was 27 years old and the women were 40 and 26.

On Saturday morning, Kyle said someone had been arrested in connection to the homicides. But at an afternoon press conference, he said that a formal arrest had not actually been made.

Kyle did not take any questions at the press conference.

Kyle said the bodies of two women and a man were discovered at the Starlight mobile home park on the 4400 block of North Fremont Street. Kyle said the fourth occupant of the residence found the bodies when he returned home from work Friday evening, but the people likely died Friday morning.

Michael Mead lives in the mobile home park close to where the homicides occurred. Mead said he works at Industrial Wood Products with the man who discovered the bodies.

"After he came home, about five minutes later, the police were down there and had everything blocked off," Mead said.

Mead said he is good friends with the people who live in the trailer where the homicides occurred.

"Whenever I first moved here, I had nothing but the clothes on my back," Mead said. "They brought me clothes and some food to get me by until I got paid. I would do anything to help them, and they would do anything to help me."

Mead said one of the residents of the trailer was pregnant.

No suspect information was given at Saturday's press conference. Kyle said the public should not be afraid in regard to this case.

"We are working very diligently to get this done," Kyle said. "I am 100 percent confident that we will solve this... We are connecting all of the dots and putting all of the pieces together. As serious as this crime is, we don't want anything fouled up."

Kyle said Christian County deputies are working in conjunction with the Missouri State Highway Patrol to investigate the case. He said authorities have been working nonstop since the bodies were discovered.

By Saturday afternoon, the crime scene tape was down around the trailer, and a few relatives were on the scene but declined to be interviewed.

The trailer is tucked away several hundred yards off the main road in a mobile home park near Fremont Hills.
