A former Marshfield teacher pleaded guilty Tuesday to sex crimes involving a 16-year-old student.

Johnna Feazell, who was an 8th-grade teacher and coach in Marshfield, pleaded guilty to felony charges of statutory sodomy and sexual contact with a student following a relationship she had with a teenage girl last fall.

Sentencing has been scheduled for Nov. 3 in Webster County. A spokeswoman with the Attorney General’s Office said as part of the plea agreement Feazell could spend 120 days in prison before going on probation.

The girl’s parents went to the Marshfield principal in October and said they thought Feazell was having a sexual relationship with their daughter. The girl’s mother found a cell phone that she and her husband hadn’t bought their daughter, and the only contact in the phone was Feazell’s number.

Feazell, 47, had “deviate sexual intercourse” with the victim in October and enticed the teen in October 2013, according to court documents.

Feazell later told another teenager to destroy a cell phone the teacher used and “all evidence,” court documents say.

Feazell also pleaded guilty Tuesday to felony charges of tampering with physical evidence and tampering with a witness.

The victim told an investigator that she had had a "mother/daughter" type relationship with Feazell since she was in seventh grade and frequently went to sporting events and other activities with her.

Feazell was disciplined by the Marshfield School District about a year before charges were field in this case for "inappropriate conduct" with the student, according to court documents. Administrators told her in writing not to have contact with the student.

Feazell was told in June 2013 to stop texting and writing letters to the student, according to court documents.

Marshfield reached a “separation agreement” with Feazell in November.
