Police say a school nurse from Niangua had sex with a 15-year-old student in a Springfield parking lot.

A Niangua school nurse has been charged with statutory rape.

Amanda Scheetz, 31, was charged last week with statutory rape after she allegedly drove the boy to Springfield and had sex with him in her car in the parking lot of Cox Hospital.

According to a probable cause statement, the boy told investigators he and Scheetz had sex in the parking lot in June. The statement says Scheetz also admitted to the sexual encounter.

A bond recommendation document says Scheetz was a nurse at Niangua High School at the time of the incident, and the boy was a student at the school.

Prosecutors have requested a warrant for Scheetz's arrest. She does not have an attorney listed for this case.

Niangua Schools Superintendent T.J. Bransfield said the school district learned about the possible crime in October and turned the investigation over to the Webster County Sheriff's Office. Bransfield said Scheetz resigned from her position immediately and is no longer employed by the school district.
