The Smashing Pumpkins posted a video to Facebook of front-man Billy Corgan visiting downtown Ozark.

The Smashing Pumpkins visited Ozark Friday afternoon but might have barely been noticed.

The rock band posted a seven-minute video to its Facebook page in which frontman Billy Corgan and another man walked around downtown Ozark on Friday discussing the Baldknobbers, a local Mexican restaurant and other topics.

Greg Veach, general manager of the restaurant Iguana Roja, said Corgan and a couple of other people ate vegan tacos and a chicken burrito, but staff didn't realize that rock 'n' roll royalty had stopped by until the video was posted online.

Veach, who was in the kitchen at the time of their visit, called it a nice surprise.

"We actually didn't realize it was them until after they posted the video," he said.

It's unclear why Corgan stopped in Ozark, but in the video they say they're on their way to Bentonville, Arkansas.

Corgan said he also wanted to play a few songs in the gazebo next to the old county courthouse but was told by the "authorities" he was not allowed to.

Ozark Alderman Randy Wright commented on the Facebook video, writing: "As an Ozark city alderman whose ward includes the courthouse square and a resident of the square whose loft faces the gazebo, I would have thoroughly enjoyed an impromptu performance by you today."

As of 5 p.m. Friday, the video had more than 34,000 views on Facebook.

In the video, Corgan stops by a stone marker in Ozark's downtown square that marks the 1889 hanging of three Baldknobbers. One sign of the marker has a picture of the famed vigilantes of the Ozarks.

"Not sure who this guy is," Corgan remarks.

Corgan also stopped in another small town this week, visiting Selmer, Tennessee, on Tuesday. According to The Jackson Sun, Corgan also ate a Mexican restaurant there.
