Stone County woman charged in death of her husband

A Stone County woman has been charged in the death of her husband, authorities said.

Cherlynn Davidson, 58, of Clever was charged Monday with involuntary manslaughter, second-degree domestic assault and two counts of unclassified felony armed criminal action, according to the Stone County sheriff's office. She is accused of shooting her husband, Garrett Dean Davidson, 56, on Sunday.

Garrett Davidson was shot once in the chest, according to the Stone County sheriff's office. Authorities were called to the couple's home in Clever on Richwood Schoolhouse Road, off M Highway in Stone County. Garrett Davidson was found in the living room.

Cherlynn Davidson told detectives that they had been arguing and she pointed a gun at him and it discharged while in her hands, according to the Stone County sheriff's office.

She is being held in the Stone County Jail with a bond of $100,000, according to the Stone County sheriff's office
