New grad wins some new wheels

Michael Irwin couldn't believe his luck.

The recent Glendale High School graduate won a new 2014 Chevy Spark from Reliable Chevrolet on Tuesday.

"I'm going to go straight to my brothers' house," Irwin said.

"I told him about this car drawing and he knows that I have really good luck because the first time I ever played Yahtzee, my first roll was a Yahtzee."

Five graduates from each Springfield public high school were selected from attendees at Project Graduation to be entered in the drawing for the car, with the winner picked at the dealership on Tuesday.

"I was really surprised," said Irwin, who thought his name being drawn was a joke. "I came in kind of late."

Irwin plans on attending Ozarks Technical Community College for two years, then going to Missouri State University to earn a degree in accounting.

Reliable Chevrolet also awarded four iPads to graduates.
