OZARK – Sheriff's deputies are working to identify a man found deceased in an area south of Chadwick, and to find out why he died.

Christian County Sheriff Joey Kyle says deputies were called to a location off of State Route H at approximately 11 a.m. They found a white male apparently in his mid 30s. Kyle says deputies don't yet know who the man is or how he died.

"We think there is possibility he was shot," Kyle said.

Kyle says deputies found shell casings and "other signs of trauma" on or near the body.

The man did not have any form of identification.

Christian County Coroner Brad Cole took possession of the body and an autopsy was scheduled for today.

Kyle says a Chadwick resident discovered the man lying dead.

"He was in the roadway. The road is a small gravel road, it's a spur off of H highway that dead ends. There is one residence at the end of the road, they were coming out this morning and they discovered the body lying in the roadway," Kyle said.
