Days later, no one has come forward to identify body found at Nixa Wendy's

The dead body found in the backseat of a car parked at a Wendy's restaurant in Nixa last week remains unidentified, according to a city spokeswoman.

The severely decomposed body was discovered Thursday and the car had reportedly been in the parking lot for multiple days.

Nixa Spokeswoman Jill Finney said investigators think they know who the individual is but are now trying to confirm the identity through dental records.

Foul play is not suspected and no one has come forward to identify the body, Finney said.

"I think people are shook up by it," she said. "I went by Wendy's the other day and there some flowers left out for him."
