A Rogersville man was charged with first-degree murder Monday.

Lowrey told police she and Meyer had been arguing all day because Meyer revealed to Lowrey he had cheated on her a few months ago.

Lowrey, Meyer and Folsom had been drinking shots of brandy for most of the day, the probable cause statement said.

According to the statement, Folsom told police he and Meyer were outside trying to jump-start Meyer's car started when they got into an argument as well.

Meyer went back inside the house and was getting ready to leave the residence when Folsom shot him, the statement said.

According to charging documents, the punishment for first-degree murder can range from 10 to 30 years, or life imprisonment.

Folsom is being held in the Webster County Jail.
