On a mission to hug cops, little girl stops by SPD

Rosalyn Baldwin, 7, rushed down the sidewalk in front of Springfield Police Headquarters where police officers from squad 16 waited for her.

Rosalyn has been traveling the country on a mission. To hug cops. Monday she stopped in Springfield to show her appreciation for the men and woman of law enforcement. 

She made the rounds between the officers, putting stickers on their uniforms after giving each one a hug. Sgt. Curt Ringgold picked her up as she approached him, wrapping her in his arms before giving her a high-five.

Angie Baldwin said that her daughter is on a mission of love to show appreciation for law enforcement.

Rosalyn came up with the idea on her own and kept bugging her mom and dad about it. "She wouldn't let it drop," Baldwin said.

Rosalyn told Baldwin, "Mom, God told me to do this. You have to help."

Baldwin and her husband agreed.

Missouri is the 12th state they have visited. They will be continuing on to Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois before heading home to Louisiana.

Rosalyn has a gofundme page to help her accomplish her mission. So far she has raised $3,014 of her $7,000 goal.
