A female inmate who escaped from Webster County Jail Thursday is still on the run and has been known to be physically dangerous, according to Detective Rick Hamilton with the Webster County Sheriff's Office.

Carrie Crowe, 27, is described as a white female with brown hair and hazel eyes. She is 5 feet, 3 inches and weighs about 130 pounds.

Crowe was unaccounted for on Thursday morning during the inmate count. It was discovered she was able to gain access through a small bathroom vent. Crowe allegedly removed a secured metal cover over the vent, knocked out an attached fan and then climbed through to the other side, according to a release.

The vent Crowe gained access through was more than seven feet off the ground, the release said, and the opening itself was approximately 16 inches by 8 inches and about 8 inches deep.

Crowe currently has an active parole absconder warrant with several potential pending charges out of multiple jurisdictions.

"Everything is coming up dead ends," Hamiliton said. "Right now we have no idea where she is at."

Hamiliton said other arrests have been made as law enforcement continues to search for Crowe, including one in Springfield that involved a police pursuit and a parole absconder who "was possibly involved with her but she was not in the vehicle," Hamilton said.
